Lauantaina menin Tylerin (amerikkalaisen sotilas-kaverini) kanssa katsomaan kuuluisaa NANTA-esitystä. NANTA on sanaton esitys, jossa musiikkia soitetaan keittiötarvikkeiden avulla. Tarina kertoo kolmesta kokista, joiden pitää valmistaa ruokaa häitä varten vain tunnin sisällä. Mikä tekee tilanteesta entistä hankalamman, on että johtaja pistää kokit opettamaan sisarenpoikaansa kokkaamaan. Esitys oli mahtava! Se oli hyvin hauska ja pidin paljon siitä, että joillakin hahmoilla oli omat hassut maneerinsa. Oli mahtavaa nähdä, miten he pystyivät luomaan musiikkia vain leikkaamalla vihanneksia ja lyömällä kulhoja sekä kanistereita yms. He tekivät myös paljon akrobatiaa ja heittivät lautasia toisilleen.
The cast consisted of just four actors and one actress. I find it amusing how they were named, as you'll see in the picture below: / Näyttelijäkaartiin kuului vain neljä näyttelijää ja yksi näyttelijätär. Heidät oli nimetty hassusti, kuten näkyy alla olevasta kuvasta:
There was the Manager, the Head Chef, the Female, the Sexy Guy and the Nephew / Hahmoihin kuului Johtaja, Pääkokki, Nainen, Seksikäs Tyyppi ja Sisarenpoika.

As a part of the plot, the chefs had to prepare a soup. They disagreed with the manager and nephew about whether it tasted good or not, so they decided to choose two people from the audience to try the soup. They went around the audience and chose a middle-ageish/older Asian man and myself! They dressed us up in hats and decorative bibs and gave us each a small bowl of soup to eat. They could speak English well and asked us both where we were from as they dressed us up. They told us to enjoy our meal, but we weren't sure whether we were supposed to eat the whole portion or not. So, as we enjoyed the soup, they continued with the performance. Suddenly, there was a "fly" in the kitchen and they started chasing it. It landed in my soup, so I pretended to be disgusted and gave the bowl to the chefs. They swapped my bowl with the other man's bowl without him noticing and made him try the soup again. They asked for his approval and he still liked the soup, although a "fly" had been in it. After that we bowed to each other and the audience. I really enjoyed being on stage, but I felt embarrassed to just eat the soup in front of the audience. Towards the end of the performance they showed a picture of the bride and groom: me and the older Asian man! It was funny, but I kind of expected it, as I knew that in some cultures eating a certain dish is part of the wedding ceremony. Of course it had to be an OLDER Asian man, not a good looking, young Asian guy... oh well xD
Osana juonta oli kohtaus, jossa kokkien piti valmistaa keittoa. He olivat eri mieltä johtajan ja sisarenpojan kanssa siitä, maistuiko keitto hyvältä vai ei, joten he päättivät valita kaksi ihmistä yleisöstä maistamaan keittoa. He kiersivät yleisössä ja valitsivat iäkkäämmän aasialaisen miehen ja minut! He pukivat meidät hattuihin sekä koristeellisiin esiliinoihin ja antoivat meille molemmille pienen kulhollisen keittoa. He puhuivat englantia hyvin ja kysyivät meiltä, mistä olimme kotoisin heidän pukiessaan meitä. He kehottivat meitä nauttimaan ateriastamme, mutta emme olleet varmoja, oliko meidän tarkoitus syödä koko kulhollinen vai ei. Joten, samalla kun nautimme keitosta, he jatkoivat esitystä. Yhtäkkiä, keittiössä oli "kärpänen", jota he alkoivat jahtaamaan. Se laskeutui minun keittooni, joten esitin, että kauhistuin siitä ja annoin kulhon kokeille. He vaihtoivat kulhoni miehen kulhoon hänen huomaamattaan ja pyysivät häntä maistamaan keittoa uudestaan. He kysyivät hänen mielipidettään ja hän silti piti keitosta, vaikka siinä oli ollut "kärpänen". Sen jälkeen kumarsimme toisillemme ja yleisölle. Oli tosi kivaa olla lavalla, mutta minua nolotti syödä yleisön edessä. Esityksen loppua kohti näytettiin kuva hääparista: minusta ja iäkkäästä aasialaisesta miehestä! Se oli hassua, mutta osasin hieman odottaa sitä, sillä tiesin, että joissain kulttuureissa hääseremoniaan kuuluu jokin ruoka, joka hääparin pitää syödä. Totta kai aviomiehen piti olla IÄKÄS aasialainen mies, eikä hyvännäköinen, nuori aasialainen mies... ei voi mitään xD

It's a picture of us on stage, where the chefs are asking the man's opinion on the soup, the man is giving his approval of the soup and I'm laughing, because I know that there was a "fly" in the soup. / Alla on kuva tuliaisesta, jonka sain esityksen jälkeen. Se on kuva meistä lavalla, jossa kokit kysyvät miehen mielipidettä keitosta, mies kertoo pitävänsä siitä ja minä nauran, koska tiedän, että keitossa oli "kärpänen".

There were quite a lot of parts in which the audience was involved. For example, there was one part in which the chefs started competing on which team could make dumplings the fastest and they got four people from the audience to help them prepare the dumplings. At one point, it was only the people from the audience on stage, because the chefs and the nephew had sneaked off the stage. The manager came into the kitchen, saw the people and went to get the chefs back on stage :D I don't want to give too much away of what happened during the performance, in case any of you ever get to see it. I really recommend going, because it was a great experience!
Esityksessä oli monia kohtia, joissa yleisö osallistui tapahtumiin. Esimerkiksi yhdessä kohdassa kokit pitivät kisan siitä, kumpi joukkue saisi mykyt valmistettua nopeimmin ja pyysivät neljää ihmistä yleisöstä auttamaan heitä valmistamaan mykyjä. Jossain vaiheessa vain ihmiset yelisöstä olivat lavalla, sillä kokit ja sisarenpoika olivat poistuneet lavalta salaa. Johtaja tuli keittiöön, näki ihmiset ja meni hakeman kokit takaisin lavalle :D En halua paljastaa liikaa esityksestä, sillä joku teistä saattaa joskus nähdä sen. Suosittelen esitystä hyvin paljon, sillä se oli mahtava kokemus!
