Seoul Lantern Festival / Seoulin lyhty festivaali

Ten and I happened to meet some Brazilians in Sinchon last week and we asked them to join us to the Seoul Lantern Festival on Sunday. Two of them, Junior and Lee, were interested, so we met up with them on Sunday evening. It was the last day of the festival, so it was very crowded and there were long queues to see it. It was all very organised, as Junior pointed out to me, with everyone queueing appropriately and the staff were guiding us where to go and when to go. The festival was held by the Cheonggyecheon Stream, so we walked along the stream while admiring the lanterns and other special decorations that were on display.

Minä ja Ten tapasimme joitakin brasilialaisia viime viikolla Sinchonissa ja pyysimme heitä liittymään seuraamme sunnuntain lyhty festivaalille. Kaksi heistä, Junior ja Lee, olivat kiinnostuneita, joten tapasimme heidät sunnuntai-iltana. Se oli festivaalin viimeinen päivä, joten siellä oli hyvin ruuhkaisaa ja pitkiä jonoja. Junior huomautti minulle, että siellä oli kuitenkin hyvin järjestelmällistä, sillä kaikki jonottivat kuuliaisesti ja työntekijät ohjasivat meitä mihin suuntaan mennä ja milloin saimme mennä eteenpäin. Festivaali oli Cheonggyecheon-purolla, joten kävelimme puroa pitkin ihaillen lyhtyjä ja muita erikoisia koristeita, jotka olivat esillä.

After enjoying the lantern festival (in the rain), we had some fried chicken for dinner. I know, I've been eating a lot of fried chicken while I've been over here. What can I say, we don't really have it in Finland xD We had a nice time together eating and talking. Ten remarked to me that we've met so many people during the time we've been in Korea and she's right. I've never met so many new people from all over the world before... It's been great!

(Sateisen) festivaalin jälkeen söimme paistettua kanaa illalliseksi. Tiedän, olen syönyt paljon paistettua kanaa ollessani täällä. Minkäs teet, meillä ei oikein ole sitä Suomessa xD Meillä oli hauskaa yhdessä syöden ja jutellen. Ten huomautti minulle, että olemme tavanneet todella paljon ihmisiä ollessamme täällä Koreassa ja hän on oikeassa. En ole koskaan tavannut niin paljon ihmisiä kaikkialta maailmassa... Se on ollut mahtavaa!
